The acting is weak and often unconvincing, even less realistic and scarier than the roles in "Power Rangers." However, Jack Kesy as Hellboy is one of the few positives. I hope this role opens doors for him because it’s one of the few things that actually works in the movie. The make-up and special effects also seem cheap and uninspired, failing to create an immersive experience and struggling to build a creepy atmosphere.

It’s an example of how a low budget can seriously compromise a film’s potential, even with real effort from the production team.
