Plot

An agnostic sex worker and a newly single rabbi fall in love; to see if their relationship can survive their very different lives and the interference of their families. The original title was ‘Shiksa’ which is also the last word spoken in the first episode. I just watched the series. Really funny and captures many essences of Jewish family life. Cleverly crafted, with great characters and acting. Kristen Bell, Adam Brody and the other main characters were great, especially Noah’s mom (the main Jewish matriarch), Joanna’s sister, Noah’s brother Sacha and Sacha’s wife. . I really hope there is a season 2 where we explore Joanna and Noah’s relationship further and see what the future holds for them personally and in their careers. I feel that both of Joanna’s parents have room for character development, especially the relationship with her father.
