Based on the comic book "Here" by Richard McGuire

Plot

A generational story about families and the special place they inhabit, sharing love, loss, laughter and life.. It was first published as a strip in the comic book magazine "Raw" in 1989, and was expanded into a 300-page graphic novel in 2014. The setting is Philadelphia, but the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs is shown to have hit the same area. This asteroid landed in what is now the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico..

One thing it has going for it is that it has to keep up. There are a number of things that don’t go its way: Robin Wright’s forced laughs, shallow storytelling, bland sequences, no real conclusion to the twisted stories.

The bones are there: the sets, the single-camera view, the solo arcs

Most disturbing, though, is the overuse of CGI to the point where it’s almost an AI movie. The opening sequence, the sharp focus of the characters close to the "camera", the fake fire in the fireplace, the way the far wall disappears so we can see the characters saying goodbye to each other. If there are feature-length AI movies in our near future, how long will our lives resemble Black Mirror’s 15,000,000 credits? It would work just as well as a stage play told in linear order.

By the end I cried three times and laughed twice

After half an hour I was glad I watched the movies for free. However, it would be best to wait to see it without the extra cost of a streaming service. I also have the same opinion about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, so…
