Lee Miller: [Hands the girl a knife and saves her from rape] Next time, stop it

Plot

The story of American photographer Lee Miller, a model who became a respected military correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II. The film crew was given full access to the Lee Miller archive with the full support and trust of the Miller family. Miller was denied entry to Hitler’s apartment because it was “for officers only.” Military correspondents are given the rank of captain, so technically the US military guard had to let her in.

But it doesn’t really bring anything new

In the end credits, there is some explanation of “what happened”; and some of Lee’s original photographs, often repurposed for the film. Featured on the 7PM Project: Episode 21 October 2024 (2024) I took the risk of watching 2 movies, about which I knew nothing until today. “Strange Love” was wonderful and original, and then I watched “Lee.” It has another strong lead role and is a good historical film.

The plot is also good

Kate Winslet is really good here and she’s good. Especially near the end of the film. Moving on to the larger part of the film, after the first half, there is some filler.

Overall, this is a good film

Since this is a simple story, there are only a few questionable requests to liven things up a bit. The story here is not a romance, so you might be waiting to get to the parts that focus more on the main WWII plot. There’s nothing in it that gives it a push for greatness.
